Abstract

In North America, sunflower has been cultivated on a very large territory since a very long time. Prehistoric Iroquoian groups used its seeds in Ontario and Quebec as well but, most of the time, it is not very conspicuous in archaeological sites. Why? Who really cared for sunflower seeds?
