Abstract

The recent discovery of a raised beach deposit at Port Simpson on the north coast of B.C. provides some new information on changes in sea level during the Late Pleistocene and Early Holocene. This paper describes the new evidence and places it within the existing sea level chronology for the Prince Rupert area. The implications for early human settlement in the area are then briefly examined.
