Abstract
The Manitoba Archaeological Society has been actively participating in public archaeology for the past 35 years. The association has been run by a small group of dedicated individuals who are professional archaeologists or archaeological students, living and breathing archaeology as a profession, a hobby, a form of exercise and a recreational activity. These enthusiastic people have undertaken the education of Manitoban's regarding Manitoba's cultural heritage using a variety of venues with varying degrees of success. The goals of public archaeology appear to be both simple and grand and the commitment to do public archaeology can be found in the MAS – What could possibly go wrong?
