Abstract Submission

Call for Abstracts
Please consider submitting an abstract for the upcoming meeting.

General format of the conference:

  1. The conference will include Invited Sessions and Themed Sessions. Session outlines will be posted on the conference website by December 15, 2019.
  2. Time allocation for oral presentations will be 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for questions.

Guidelines for presenters:

  1. Sessions may consist of oral and poster presentations.
  2. Contributors may choose which format they prefer at the time of submission. If sessions are over-subscribed, some presenters may be asked to change to poster format.
  3. Contributors do not have to specify a session when they submit. However, contributors may select a session which is a good match for their presentation. Contributors who have been invited to participate in a specific session should select that session on the submission form.
  4. Each contributor may be a lead author on two presentations, and co-author on up to two additional presentations.
  5. When there are multiple authors on an abstract, the presenter must be clearly identified.
  6. Abstracts should consist of a plain language title, and a 200 word (maximum) description of the presentation.
  7. All abstract authors and co-authors should include their name, professional affiliation, and e-mail address.
  8. Abstracts may be submitted in English or French.
  9. Presenters must be members in good standing of the Canadian Archaeological Association at the time the abstract is submitted and at the time of the conference.
  10. Presenters must register for the conference and are expected to attend the conference.
  11. For multidisciplinary studies, co-authors do not have to be members of the Canadian Archaeological Association or attend the conference, although they are encouraged to do so.
  12. Abstracts will be reproduced as submitted. Contributors are responsible for proof-reading their abstract.

Evaluation:

  1. After deadline, all abstracts will be reviewed by the Program Chair and a subgroup of the program committee.
  2. After the abstract deadline, the Program Chair may direct volunteered papers to sessions if they are a clear fit with the theme. Session convenors may accept these additional papers or not.
  3. Submission of an abstract is not a guarantee of acceptance.
  4. Presenter conflicts between sessions will be resolved by the Program Chair.

Abstract submission will open on December 16, 2019. All abstracts should be submitted by February 20, 2020 February 28, 2020.
