Publication Panel

Date/Time: Friday, May 8, 2020 - 12 pm to 1 pm
Location:  TBD
Cost: Free

“Publish or perish” is still a common phrase in academia inferring that the number of publications you have can influence your chance of securing an academic job. Publishing a paper can be intimidating, especially if you’ve unfamiliar with the process, and this workshop is aimed at helping this process, especially for early-career researchers and students. Our expert panel is here to answer any questions you have on getting your paper to publication. The panel will include Editors from international and local journals to tell you what they like to see in article submissions, as well as well-published authors to give some tips and tricks on how to write a paper for publication. All are welcome; please bring your lunch.

Hosted by the CAA Student Committee (Kelsey Pennanen and Molly Ingenmey); Panel TBA.

The Ethics Bowl gives a chance for students to practice and learn more about ethics in archaeology and how they are put to use in real situations.  Both undergraduates and graduate students can participate in the Ethics Bowl and can include up to four people in their team. Teams can choose to compete in English, French or both, depending on what language they are most comfortable with.
