54th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Archaeological Association

Instructions for Using Chime

The conference will be using a virtual platform called Encore Chime, which will be accessible at:
https://caa-asa2022.can.chime.live/. Chime will be sending personalized login information to all conference attendees a couple of days before the conference begins.

When you log into Chime, you will land on the home page. This is where you can navigate to other pages, such as the Plenary Speakers Bios, the Agenda, and the Posters. You will see all options in the column on the left side of the page.

The Agenda is where you can see all the sessions and events happening on a given day. You can select a specific day using the drop-down menu on the top of the page. This is also where you will find the Zoom links to the session streams.

You can view the program at any time by selecting "Event Program" in the left column. A box will appear to inform you that the program will open in a separate window. Chime will remain open in its original window.

You can create virtual business cards for yourself in Chime by selecting "Connect" on the left column. You have the option to upload a photo of yourself. When you select "My Biography" you will see the opportunity to write a small biography about yourself, as well as select options for how other attendees can contact you in Chime. When you select "My Business Card," you can create a small information sheet with your name and contact information on it.  You can also connect virtually with other attendees by selecting "Connect."

The blogwall and chat streams are additional places where you can connect virtually with other attendees. On the blogwall, attendees can reply directly to questions and comments. The chat stream is more of an open, on-going chat.
