The Archaeological Assessment Services Unit (AASU) within Manitoba Sport, Culture and Heritage is responsible for administering portions of the Heritage Resources Act. Our unique contribution is to ensure that heritage resources, wherever their original locations throughout Manitoba, are managed in accordance with the provisions of The Act. The AASU reviews a variety of development proposals and works with departments, developers, industry and their consultants to develop terms of reference for impact assessments involving heritage resources. The AASU also conducts site inspections and responds to archaeological emergencies as required. The AASU is seeking to expand its team with additional highly skilled Impact Assessment Archaeologists (3 Full-Time Regular positions and 1 Full-Time Term position).
