Tourism and Culture is seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic archaeologist to lead our archaeology program. The incumbent assists Yukon Government in meeting its obligations under the Historic Resources Act, Yukon First Nations Final Agreements and the Umbrella Final Agreement by developing and implementing a program of archaeological resource management, policy and research in Yukon designed to protect and conserve Yukon’s archaeological resources and to increase knowledge of Yukon’s prehistoric and historic past.
The Yukon Archaeologist works collaboratively with various stakeholders, including communities, industry, First Nations and other government resource managers. They manage Yukon archaeological collections and databases, and create technical and non-technical publications and presentations.
This is a full time indeterminate position, working 75 hours biweekly.
