Abstract
For many years the nature of Inuit occupations in southern Labrador during the Contact Period has been debated. European Written accounts from this time period suggest a sustained Inuit presence in southern Labrador, yet archaeological evidence of this remains elusive. This paper will focus on a 17th century Labrador Inuit fall/winter dwelling from Snack Cove 3 in order to address the nature of Inuit occupations in southern Labrador during the early Contact Period.
