Abstract

From the beginning of work at the Gray Burial Site in southwestern Saskatchewan in 1969, it has been unclear whether the site was used by one or several groups, and whether use of the site was interrupted by one or more intervals of inactivity. This paper assesses old and new evidence bearing on these questions. Consideration is given to the existing radiocarbon dates, new fluorine dates, and cluster analyses of skeletal data. The author concludes that the Gray Site was probably used continuously by a single group of people for a protracted period.
