These books represent outstanding contributions in collaboration and communication that support insight and appreciation of Canadian archaeology, particularly within their Northern Manitoba Asiniskaw Īthiniwak (Rocky Cree) ancestral lands settings. The books are designed to teach young people about the old ways. The committee describes them as beautifully illustrated and refreshingly melding Indigenous storytelling and discussions of belongings (artifacts) in relation to place.
