Print vs. electronic: 70% of respondents already receive the journal electronically or would prefer to switch to electronic than pay extra for the print version. The remaining 30% would be willing to pay an additional fee for the print version, though many of them commented that they understand that the print version may be unsustainable.

The CAA Board of Directors is excited to announce a new partnership between the Canadian Archaeological Association and the American Cultural Resources Association (ACRA). Find out more about ACRA here.  This partnership allows CAA members to take advantage of ACRA training and professional development opportunities (annual conference, workshops and webinars) at the same rates as ACRA members. In 2021 the CAA would like to host a virtual conference, throughout the month of May. This could include remote versions of paper and poster sessions, and interactive webinars, as well as the annual Board of Directors meeting and AGM.

We are looking for a volunteer to serve as conference chair on behalf of the CAA, and other volunteers to serve on the organizing committee.

The University of Toronto Scarborough, the Department of Anthropology invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Archaeology.  The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an expected start date of July 1, 2021, or shortly thereafter.

Applicants must have earned a PhD in Anthropology or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter.  We seek candidates with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing field research in North America (Canada and / or the United States).  Preference may be given to candidates with an interest in developing a vibrant research program including field research based in Ontario.
