Tourism and Culture is seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic archaeologist to contribute to our archaeology program.

The Special Projects Archaeologist is responsible for project management for the Yukon Archaeology Program’s major research and assessment projects, including the Ice Patch Research Project, and research projects undertaken in the Yukon First Nation Archaeology program. The position includes field work, work with archaeological collections and databases, and creating technical and non-technical publications and presentations.

Under the direction of the Yukon Archaeologist, the incumbent works with various stakeholders, communities, industry, First Nations and other government resource managers. The incumbent assists Yukon Government in meeting its obligations under the Historic Resources Act, Yukon First Nations Final Agreements and the Umbrella Final Agreement.

This is a full time indeterminate position, working 75 hours biweekly.
